........one of our reporters from the UK in Iraq on TV yesterday (cant remember his name), who was describing the elections and as he was gesturing with his hands I noticed his finger was coated in purple ink - like the Iraqis who voted. It seems even the British media were eligible to vote in the Iraqi elections!!

No, I didnt see that Maria. What channel was it on, can you remember. The only thing I got from these 'elections' is that the resistance are waiting to see what happens. If some sort of pro-US govt emerges (very, very likely) then it will reach a level of ferocity and support from the people that we havent seen yet. Another thing is, did anyone hear any news from Sadr city? Because 3 million Shiite Iraqis live there and the Mehdi Army have ensured that it's a no-go zone for the US and collaborators. If these Shia arent represented, I think we can see the further growth of Mehdi Army operations against the occupiers. I didnt see any of the embedded 'journalists' venture into the area to report the 'Iraqis and their joy for democracy' so I dont kn0w what happened there yesterday.

if the Iraqi government wishes.
That means that the Iraqi Government will be 100% US puppets and that they had to have rigged the elections in order to make certain the results. The US's intention is to keep US forces in Iraq for 50 years. They ain't building long term bases and a fortified American Embassy for nothing! OIL has to be siphoned, protected, and other countries have to be attacked. It would make no sense to leave Iraq when the reason for going there in the first place was to capture the OIL and threaten Syria and Iran.
Even the anti-Bush believe the rhetoric, spin, that's how evolved PSYOPS has become. There is no truth from Bush's Fascists, only deception to continue their conquests while manipulating the gullible fodder.

Wow, what a difficult name for a Midwesterner to pronounce...!
You say the US went to Iraq to threaten Syria? This is ridiculous, because Syria is on the Meditaranian sea, and the 6th fleet can be just beside it, and can send precision missiles to hit any building in Syria.
I know many Syrian friends who are very modern in their thinking. They all tell me that the US will be very welcome when it decides to liberate them.
I think the virus of liberation is spreading like no other virus in the human history. Many peoples want to be liberated and are hoping the US will sacrifice even a portion of what it has sacrificed for the Iraqi people, for their own liberation.
May God bless Lady Liberty.

Yes, Sadr city is a no go zone for the US and the ING, although they seem to have some working arrangement with the local police.

Does anyone know for sure where all the ballots went and who is counting them?
I heard they were to go to Jordan to be counted there.
That would be about right.

Well, they have set up the "international counting center" in Amman.
and that is where all of the out of country / absentee ballots are being sent.
I wonder if they've stuffed the ballot boxes coming into Amman, or stuff them there, or that they'll just change the numbers while in Amman.

In Denmark, a colony of the Empire and the only country in Europe besides Britain to have officially declared war on Iraq, an estimated 16,000 "Iraqi voters" received a letter from the Ministry of Interior inviting them to register at the country's only polling station, close to the capital of Copenhagen. The Danish government provided free transportation both for registration and on ballot day. The most shocking issue is that while Denmark, as many other European countries, does not allow for dual nationality, many (if not all) naturalized Danes of Iraqi descent were formally invited to participate. Concerns have been raised by the fact that the Ministry of Interior is apparently able to keep track of naturalized citizens' previous nationality, a highly unexpected provision within the country's administrative traditions.
