no wonder the us-troops shine in combat against them. even the mediocre us-soldiers can kill hundreds of these poor fellows.

This sounds like the case in April, but the way Sadr's people are fighting now and the arsenal they are using shows that they have improved since then.

And more than 3 million casualties before they learned how to fight. The muslims like the Russians in WW2 can afford plenty of casualties. As long as the will to resist grows stronger in the minds of those who survive and in the minds of the relatives of the dead.
City war is not hard to learn especially when you are defending your own homes and family.

In my heart, but i was just waiting for the report.
I knew the Fallujians would help the Mehdi Army as the Mehdi Army helped them During the Siege.
Hooray for a united resistance!
United we stand, devided we fall!

This might not be a bad thing
"Instead, they fight in groups of equals"
And Radio messages are often intercepted as i've heard from the enemy. however he could easly have been spewing disinformation.
Also this "Our love for the Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr inspires us to sacrifice our lives for him and not to fear death," .
Although Sadr is a hero and i understand how she is inspired by him, she should be sacraficing her life for her country not for one man.
I'm just affraid that people will be blinded by love as they have been for Sistani. Follow the man's Idea's not the man himself!

Sunnis and Shi'ite, joined together aganst a common foe - this is a dream come true for me.
During Saddam's time, the Iraqi Shi'ite did not get very good training. But now, their Sunnis brethern are teaching them.
Surely, some of these Mahdi fighters will go to Fallujah in the future to help if the fighting cools down in Najaf.
