US to produce plutonium 238 for secret missions

The material, used as a power source, would primarily be used for secret national security missions
"The real reason we're starting production is for national security," Timothy A. Frazier, head of radioisotope power systems at the Energy Department, said in a recent interview.
He vigorously denied that any of the classified missions would involve nuclear arms, satellites or weapons in space.
In 1964, a rocket failure led to the destruction of a navigation satellite powered by plutonium 238, spreading radioactivity around the globe and starting a debate over the event's health effects.

All isotopes of plutonium must be well shielded,..., and even a microscopic quantity of U238 can wreak havoc in organic materials,..., not to mention,..., it can be converted for weaponization purposes,...,

The main reason I can imagine why they would need nuclear fuel is for production of energy for an autonomous device,either a satellite , or an engine functioning in wild remote areas (undersea for ex.) or maybe for a small bugging device (microphone) destined to be embedded in a wall or a piece of furniture for several years.

Does the US manufacture any items that can be used for the benefit of mankind? We have AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other killer diseases wreaking havoc all around the globe and yet not much effort is being put into research to find cures for these diseases but no amount of effort is too much to design all kinds of dangerous radioactive weapons. What a great shame on the US!!!

If the only only effective cures/preventions of those diseases were promoted and enforced by those having the means then half the world's industry of chemicals, processed foods, industrial farming and official (chemical) medicine etc. would be put out of business and disappear. It'll never happen in our lifetimes.

Useful scientific research always takes a beating when megalomaniacs take power and control the resourses towards militarization. Such is the current situation in the USA and UK under the auspices of these Warmongering idiots shrubbie and b'liar.

But yet, "they" are still operating with all our lives at stake. They who play God, condemn and stop good people for advocating peace, must all be reckoned with eventually. What can we do? Do we just wait and see what happens? Who has the power to turn it around? One doesn't have to believe in any religion to see what's coming down the pike. We are truly living in the last days of this planet. Personally, I don't see any one entity, one state, or even one country powerful enough to stop the machine that's already in motion for global destruction. Please someone, show me the way out of here, or show me the way to stop the machine. My mind is on fire with rage.
