How possibly could Japan counter a united North and South Korea? A united Korea could project it's influence almost any where in the world if it so chose to do so. Japan's grip on the rest of southeast Asia would be greatly diminished. Peace.

Japan is Covertly alligned with China and South Korea is covertly alligned with China.N.korea will not attack Japan because China has already given Guarantees to Japan that North Korea will not attack it.
If North Korea is attacked by the U.S Fleet then what we may see is Japan and South-North Korea along with China attack The U.S Navy and U.S Military installations in the Pacific Rim.China has Guaranteed Japan North Korea will not attack it,also it has guaranteed it energy supply (ie oil and gas) and it has guaranteed that the Japanese Yen will become the Reserve Currency of the World when the Dollar fails(and not the Euro).China has also Guaranteed Japan the return of the Japanese Islands stolen by the U.S.S.R.Japan has passed over its highest grade electronic and computer technology to China(which is dual purpose ie Military use).Guaranteed China that if the U.S attacks North Korea or stirs up military trouble in the pacific rim that Japan Militarily will side with China and take out the U.S Bases there.South Korea is exactly the same. All those 4 Countries are alligned together.
The reason they are alligned is out of Neccesity and proximity of each country they are neighbours. It is Not in those Countries interest to be against each other.Or the alternative is that all those countries blow themselves up with the help of the U.S Military. That wont happen now.

It is a question of logic.Look at the situation in the Pacific Rim.North Korea arose from war with the United Nations in the 50s and what was created was a segregated land mass between North and South and this suited the United Nations who are run by the "Club of Paris" G7 Nations the West because of Divide and Conquer tactics where a militarised North Korea kept both Japan and South Korea in Check enabling Western troops a foothold in the Pacific rim. That Dynamic has Now Changed completely (Being Turned on its head). It Diminishes Western influence.Where as North Korea is beneficial to China and Chinas powerplays in that area.
Kim Jung Il Goverment is Controlled and Maintained by China and North Korea accept that because it is of benefit to Kims Goverment. It benefits China in 2 ways. The First is that it has a 9 million strong army fully armed and trained which indirectly come under Chinese Control. The same as having a 9 million strong army yourself but with plausible denial,in short China can use it too do the dirty work for itself and not get blamed in the international community which could bring about sanctions etc.The 2nd reason is that it keeps both Japan and South Korea in Check, for these countries to Deal with N.Korea they have to deal with China and Japan and S.Korea know this.North Korea is Chinas Dog on a Leash. Therefore it strengthens Chinas Political power in the region. The U.S under orders has Threatened N.Korea which creates instability in that region the Pacific Rim.

Along with Using Outside owned media corporations that "stir the Sh-t up in the press"inside Japan and South Korea, creates a climate of Fear and paranioa.Where Countries start accussing each other and throwing mud around.Under that climate if the U.S attacks North Korea what is the likely Result in that surrounding area ? I ask you ? To me it is all those Countries get entangled Militarily eventually leading to the Unleashment of some Nuclear weapons. It is Not in Japans Interest for that to happen Nor South Korea Nor North Korea Nor Chinas.
It is in each of those Countries interest for war not to occur in that area, therefore Japan-S.Korea Would have already had Dialogue Covertly with China and China Controls North Korea.Between that Japan-S.Korea-China Would have already struck agreements and implemented their own plans. What is the alternative Japan allows the U.S from its soil to attack North Korea Knowing that China or North Korea Would Vapourise it,the same situation for South Korea. If war breaks Out and western forces are there and it goes wrong they can Run Away 12,000 kms and 15,000 kms back to the U.S and Europe.Japan and South Korea Do not have the Luxury of that. They cant just plop their countries on the back of trailers and drive them of to safety. They are Neighbours To China(Right There). What Do you think China would do to them.and Japan and South Korea Know this. They will side with China in times of war that is common sense.

IMHO I think N Korea is relatively impoverished and probably does face quite bad agriculture problems as it has requests a lot of fertilizer. This means they find difficulty in producing the cornerstone chemicals essential for healthy economy. These chemicals are ammonia and its oxidation product nitric acid (which unsurprizingly perhaps requires an modified ammonia plant) as well as sulphuric acid.
These plants need natural gas and sulphur. I cannot stress enough the importance of these chemicals.
From the few pictures I've seen of N.Korea, their landscape looks rather barren - a bit like Nepal. I know they were only pictures of small areas, but still!!!
Of course I desperately want all nations to avoid conflict, but overriding this is the absolute belief that if a nation is attacked it has the right to defend itself. This is the US Dr. Strangeloves have said US nukes can be used on a forst strike basis, which consequently open the absolute necessary to develop early warning stations and a crushing response. The US have automatically engineered their own death.
If Korea is attacked its leadership have NOTHING to lose. They will be annhilalated (as will many of their population, despite the utter bollocks rhetoric from the US pigs that civilians will not be targeted). As a result N.Korea, if attacked SHOULD respond massively down to the last bow and arrow, for they will not have attacked anyone. Quite the opposite in fact.
{American and Western tank commanders do not know how to fight tank battles in rugged terrains like those of Korea.} Errrm.. I think they do, but of course it will not be exactly like N Korean terrain.
For a report that says N.Koreas militaty capacity is a well kept secret, the author seems to have miraculousl knowledge of it!!!
If the T-62 (62 refers to the year of its first production by the way) travels at a max speed of 60 while the M1A travels at 55, so what? A conventional war ain the 1,500m you know! And on inclined surfaces the straight line speed isn't relevant. This trumping of N. Koreas 'secret' army is a bit irrelevant.
{The US army has A-10 attack planes to counter North Korea's mechanized units. In case of war, the skies over Korea will be filled with fighters in close dog-fights and the A-10s would be ineffective.}
A10's are only deployed AFTER the arial threat is destroyed. ANY conventional war these days is all about AIR SUPERIORITY. Just about nothing else will happen before the skies are cleared. Anything else is just suicide. This is not to say air superiority automatically means a war is won (look at Vietnam and the secret destruction of Cambodia as planned by Kissinger), it just means that win the initial ground war of occupaiton is maximised, as thats when the A10 comes to the fore.
The DMZ would never be able to crossed like this. Rubbish. Its not the Maginot line you know. I am getting concerned at this article now.
Vietnams tunnels were largely covered by thick flora to hide infintry and infantry based weaponry. HAving tunnels has strangely become a mythical almost indestructable asset. Come on! Yes they may cause the US much pain but is no gurantee of success. What is the yanks start to occupy the tunnels?
{but AN-2 planes can fly low beneath US radars} maybe so, but can it avoid AWACS? Satellite tracking and US air patrols? If te US and N.Korea were to go to war, you can bet the US pigs would throw EVERY bit of conventional weaponry at them, and every tactic, so AN-2 being able to take off in the first place would be very difficult. MAssive carpet bombing ALL known runways from collossal heights. IF the US and N.Korea went to war you can be sure the US think to itself... 'We simply cant afford to lose'
But 'not win' (there is a difference) will probably be the case. Millions of N.Koreans would be dead. And the US casualites and S.Korean casualties would, in all likelyhood be very high. Still, assuming conventional warfare only!
And I hope N.Korea doesn't rely too heavily on its submarines. This report is full of jonah type incidents involving subs.
N.Korea has ICBM's????? Really? I thought it only had the capability to reach Japan and someway into the pacific. Again, where does this author get this 'secret' info?? To rely on untested ICBM's to hit the US is a very risky tactic. - and the Yanks know it. The US is HALF THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE EARTH away from N Korea, approx 15,000 miles. this is a HUGE distance.
Uufff! I'll have to finishe reading the rest later.
I WANT N.Korea to be able to stand up to the US, and It CAN for a long period of time, becasue of the DMZ fortifications and the good defensive capabilities of the N.Korean army, however that is not why the US has not invaded. It is the NUKE threat possessed by N.Korea that is N.Koreas safetypin, and it is THIS that the Koreans will instantly turn to if a US attack ever comes about, probably Nuking Japan and S.Korea if it doesn't have the ability to target the US directly.

No of Course not,I am not Jiang Zemin-Hu Jintao or Kim Jong Il.It is an unbiased opinion based on logic and common sense.
Is Japan banging the drums for War in the Pacific Or South Korea or China or North Korea,No it is Not.It is the U.S and West that want war in that Region. It is in all the above Countries To avoid That, which can only be done through dialogue leading to alliances and covert relationships that will only be seen in a time of war.
All of these Countries Know the reasons why the U.S is posturing for war in the pacific rim.And they now will most certainly be aligned together.
Their relationship is good for all of us because it helps stop war and a war in the Pacific Rim Would most certainly go Global and Total.

...but there are some things that I don't believe. One such for instance is, it says that Russia and China won't help North Korea in the event of an Amerikkkan attack. I beg to differ! They helped Korea in the past, and they certainly will help now because neither Russia or China wants the Amerikkkans in their backyard! Amerikkka knows this and so won't attack North Korea. Imagine fighting the well disciplined North Korean Army as well as fighting the Russian Army and Chinese People's Army by proxy. Amerikkka will lose HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!

Quote:
Commanders discussed two unpalatable options: waiting until the missile landed and thus risking the annihilation of 4 million Americans in Seattle or firing back at North Korea, potentially killing even more.
What sort of warhead was in that missile that led the US commanders to believe that 4 millions americans in seattle could be wiped out?
What sort of warhead?
The north could have nuked the US way way back. Which is why the US never touched the north. To save face and distract the issue, the US mainstream media began to paint north korea as an impoverished and starving state.
The US mainstream media has seriously distorted the image and reality of North Korea and its military capability.
If the US dares to attack the north, we will have a REAL war for once.

intanar. Its all speculation. There is not one atom of proof. I hear so many 'experts' on BBC talking utter shit about so many international issues, like Al-Qeada and Iraq WMD program and so forth. The list of shit speilers is very long indeed. These twats make a living from the rubbish they inflate into the smallest of information and suspiciously often from 'inside sources' and other pathetic stuff like that which they then spout out over airwaves pumped out by the hidden agenda brainwasher-to-braimwashee mass media.
The only real proof that N.Korea can hit mainland is if they test launched a missile that was proven to have the range. HAs such a test been conducted? Again I say it it ridiculous of anyone to rely on untested equipment. AND they cannot be 100% sure their warhead works either because they havent done a nuke test thats why so many scum states have
I am deeply suspicious of reports that N.Korea pose a threat to the US mainland. Not that I dont want it (as this would ensure N.Koreas security) but becasue reports that N.Korea are a direct threat to the US IS EXACTLY THE SAME UNFOUNDED FEAR BASED PSYCHOLOGICAL KIDOLOGY that the USUK murderers used so successfully against Iraq. The BBC even said saddam tested a nuke for heavens sake and went (to the best of my knowledge) completely unchallenged about it!!!!!!
The fact the report says N.Koreas military might is deeply shrouded in mystery and then goes on to detail how many peas they even have for their pea shooters, is actually proof in itself the true nature of this article. The overall impression is that N.Koreas army is better than the US army in many respects. This report is therefore full of shit and is just another US psy-op. Very sad to see how some intelligent posters here seem to be falling for it.
- Havent we learned anything??????

so many scum states has said serious action against N.Korea would follow if it did a nuke test. Why? It only a test, nobody got killed. The reason is becasue by completion of a sucessful nuke test, they know 100% that all their nuke tech knowledge is real and does what its supposed to. Pakistan and India had the same sanctions, which were lifted relatively quickly simply becasue they had very open friendly realtionship with US and Russia respectively.
Wasn;t it fortunate that the missile landed short of US waters. Who else reported this??? Lets get some Chinese or Russian information on this tracked missile. After all Russia has ballistic missile tracking stations that cover that region of the world, as no doubt do the Chinese.
Do yourselves a favour, don't let yourselves believe the shit about N.Korean hard-ass military. Who benefits?
Learn the lesson of Iraq please

Mike, the issue is that North Korea isn't Iraq.
North Korea's missile and nuclear capability is real.
North Korea, along with the US, Russia and China has ICBMs.
Hard to believe but evidence points to that fact.
The statement about north korea's missile near the US coast is by a US congressman named Mark Kirk. Google him for his bio. This statement is not some wild allegation like the Zarawaqi shit.
This 1993 test by north korea is reported as a "short range" missile test by the US media. But the statement by Mark Kirk shows the reality. Mark Kirk was there at the pentagon monitoring the test, he should know.
The missiles were not untested. North Korea tested missiles in 1993 and 1998.
Now these missiles tests have been distorted and played down by the US media.
Shortly after the 1993 test, US began to negoiate with North Korea. The 1994
agreed framework, the 1996 "four way talks" and later the 2000 visit of the US secretary of state to Pyongyang.
It was also after the 1993 tests that the idea of scrapping the anti-ballistic missile treaty began to float in some US circles.
Now, we have anti-missile sites in Alsaka. Why build them if there were no threats?
I believe that North Korea's missile and nuclear capabilities are real. Which is why the US dare not attack them. One thing to note is that the US did not play up these things. They did not. Why? Because they could not let the US public know that they cannot protect them from North Korean missiles. This would also explain why North Korea dares to challenge the US and keeps getting away with it.
Now Iraq was different. US hyped up Iraq's weapons capability in order to have an excuse to start war. They can't do that with North Korea. Because there are no real war options. If war starts, the North will have the option of sending missiles armed with nukes to the US.
US only attacks weak states. When is comes to the real thing, they just fold.

Yasis, North Korea have no ICBM's.
I believe that North Korea's missile and nuclear capabilities are real. Which is why the US dare not attack them
US does not dare to attack them for a lot of reasons.
- North Korea is a complicated country to invade.
- They have frontier with China and Russia
- North Korea cannot attack US territory, but they can attack SKorea and Japan, and it would be difficult to US condemning to death their major allies in the zone and after that how would be their relations?
Now, we have anti-missile sites in Alsaka. Why build them if there were no threats?
There are real threats to US, but not from NKorea. I think that NKorea is being used as an excuse to build an anti-ballistic missile and the choice to put weapons in space.

FromPortugal, I agree with some of your points, but how do you explain the statement made by Mark Kirk on North Korean missiles near the US coast?
And how about the report on warheads in Alaska? It is too bad that the news reports were a bit vague.
North Korea's missile technology is no small thing. Many countries buy them.
Iran and Pakistan both have missiles that are believed to be copies of North Korea's missiles. Pakistan's missiles can carry nuclear warheads.
Egypt, Syria,Yemen and Libya also buy North korea's missiles.

i don't know why Mark Kirk have told that.
But for me, it is rather strange a country testing an ICBM missile, choose US soil for target.
We have some countries with ICBM's, where they test their weapons, shooting their neighbour?
When India or Pakistan test their weapons, they fired them targeting the other?
if US is scared about Nkorea ICBM missiles, well we have a lot to talk about missiles launched by submarines near US coastal. how can a ABM system will deal with that? are they going to spread patriots along their coast?
now, how many congressman's exageratte the threat in order to get what they want? before military budget approval, US is not only attacked by martians!
we can say a lot about Nkorea, but i don't believe that they have ICBM missiles. And it is not because a congress man says that i'll start to believe.
This is my opinion. only time will tell the truth.
