Italian "diplomatic counsellor" killed in Kabul attack (Extra)
Feb 26, 2010, 11:24 GMT
Rome - An Italian 'diplomatic counsellor' was among the victims of Friday's terrorist attack in the Afghan capital Kabul, Italy's Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said.
The man was deployed with Italy's embassy in Afghanistan and resided at the hotel targeted in the dawn attack, Frattini said in a television interview.
At least 15 people were killed in the attack.
'A car bomb and gunmen were involved. The attack was thwarted, but unfortunately, nothing could be done to prevent the car bomb from exploding,' Frattini said.
Frattini said Italy remained committed to the international military mission in Afghanistan.

this report is saying "at least 15 people were killed"; another report said "at least 17 were killed". Tell me what is so difficult to state the precise amount of persons killed?
This number must be known to the authorities. Why can't they be more specific? What are they hiding? The Taleban report said they killed more than 50 persons in the attack.
Now I would be sympathetic to the Taleban's report because their people could not stick around and make the body count. But the local authorities could. This deficient reporting irks me with the mainstream media and shows that it is not being candid with its patrons.
Let me not knock the monsters and critics website which probably is republishing the report it obtained.
