Coats: Military action 'only option' on Iran
Tags:Iran,2010,Ind. Senate,Dan Coats
By ALEXANDER BURNS | 2/25/10 12:05 PM EST Text Size-+reset.Former Indiana Sen. Dan Coats told the magazine Human Events this week that "potential military action" is "the only option now" for halting Iran's nuclear program.
In an interview with the conservative publication, Coats warned that Americans could not "accept the unacceptable" and allow the rogue state to obtain atomic weapons.
"We have not put enough pressure on our allies to put pressure on Iran," Coats said. "We have not imposed the kind of biting sanctions that can leverage them into a position of putting the squeeze on them in terms of whether they were going to go forward with this or accept embargo gasoline supplies, embargo on shipping oil out of the country.
"I think we face up to the facts and let the American people and the world know that everybody has to eat their words," he continued. "The only option now is potential military action if we're going to stop this."
An Iranian attack on Israel, Coats added, "cannot be acceptable," continuing: "We absolutely have to, I think at this point, very significantly ramp up the pressure against Iran."

"An Iranian attack on Israel, Coats added, "cannot be acceptable"
I think he meant to say that an israeli attack on Iran is unacceptable. Everyone knows that Iran will not strike first; so if tomorrow I awake to the news that there is hostility in this area, I am going to be assuming immediately that it was triggered by either Israel or the United States.
Very often these stories reveal the hidden truths behind some of the events we take for granted. For example: "We have not put enough pressure on our allies to put pressure on Iran," Coats said"
Listen carefully and understand what Coats is saying::---the americans pressure other nations to do the american bidding. You couldn't want it clearer than this. Coats said: we have not put enough pressure; that is to say that pressure is being placed on the american allies to pressure Iran.
So when we hear Hilary and all the other american spokespeople talking about 'the international community' does this or that; what she is actually saying is:--the international community, under pressure from Washington is demanding X, Y or Z.
The more the americans speak, the more they reveal their brazen and dictatorial policies intended for the rest of the world, in particular the third world.
