/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Russia is against “paralyzing” sanctions in Iran and intends to implement its activities on the delivery of S-300 anti-aircraft missiles to Iran, as agreed in the contract, Russian Foreign Deputy Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

He also emphasized that the term “paralyzing sanctions” applied to Iran is absolutely unacceptable to Russia. “The sanctions shall lead to strengthening of non-proliferation regime. The issue should not be regarded from that angle, when the sanctions can be interpreted as a punishment to the whole country and its population. Moscow believes that there is nothing more consequent than our position on Iran,” Mr. Ryabkov said.

While talking about S-300 aircraft missiles delivery to Iran, Sergei Ryabkov highlighted, “There is a contract on the air-craft systems delivery to Iran, and we will execute it. We always fulfill all our responsibilities on delivery of our military products to other countries; and we act in compliance with our inner and very strict requirements to such activities.”

According to the Russian Foreign Deputy Minister, the current delays are caused by “technical problems” and the discrepancy related to the Russian-Iranian military cooperation is too politicized.

“It's absolutely incorrect to extract the S-300 delivery topic out of the whole context and to present it as a main problem. It's even more incorrect to anyhow associate it with the discussion on the restoration of the trust to the completely peaceful character of the Iranian nuclear program. Here we have 2 different issues, and each of them requires individual approach, based on its nature,” Mr. Ryabov added, Interfax reported.
