Israeli Enemy Searching for Substitute Airport in Case of War!
Hussein Assi
19/02/2010 Three days following the "terror balance" speech delivered by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah in the occasion of the Martyr leaders' anniversary on Tuesday, and while Israeli authorities maintained their "unprecedented silence," the first "practical" moves saw light…
Thus, Israeli Vice Prime Minister and Minister of the Development of Negev and Galilee Silvan Shalom chose the farthest point from the north (border with Lebanon) to discuss the establishment of a sub-civilian airport in a military base in the Negev south of occupied Palestine as a substitute to the Ben Gurion airport in time of war. "I know that the air force has severe necessities but I hope that together, we could find the way for a real change in the Negev," Shalom said.
"If you strike martyr Rafiq Hariri's international airport in Beirut, we'll strike your Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv. If you hit our ports, we will hit your ports. If you attack our refineries or factories, we'll bomb your refineries and factories," Sayyed Nasrallah said, addressing the Israelis in his Tuesday speech.
The new "trend" comes in harmony with the one adopted by the Israeli air force since 2006 and that's reflected in the attempt to remove the air bases to the South so that they remain distanced from the Resistance's rockets. "Today, we have one third of the air force serving in the Negev in the various bases and we really believe in the necessity of strengthening the Negev and its population but such discussions are not public," Israeli air force commander Major General Ido Nehushtan said in this context.
Meanwhile, the renewal of the pledge to revenge the assassination of Hezbollah military commader Imad Moghniyyeh (Hajj Redwan) has restored the state of "confusion" within the Israeli leaders over the potential response of the Resistance. In this context, the Israeli Television revealed that the VIP Protection Unit within the staff committee has formed an external group charged with protecting the high-ranking Israeli officers in their foreign trips.
"Today, on the anniversary in memory of Imad, I say that we seek revenge as big as Imad Mugniyah. That is what we want. In the last couple of years, we had lots of small opportunities to avenge Hajj Redwan's death, but we did not go for them, because the killing we want to avenge is Imad Moghniyeh’s. Our enemy is anxious, let him stay anxious. We will choose the time, the place and the target which we want to be worthy of the martyrdom of Imad Moghniyeh," Sayyed Nasrallah said in his Tuesday speech.
In a related development, the Israeli media commented on the detailed report broadcast by Al-Manar about Gush Dan or the The Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area in light of Sayyed Nasrallah's threats, noting that Al-Manar has therefore joined the "psychological war" launched by Hezbollah on Israel.
"The television war started as well. After (Sayyed) Hasan Nasrallah vowed to strike Tel Aviv in case Israel strikes the southern suburb, Al-Manar Television joined the war and graphically explained the situation," an Israeli TV host said.
The Israeli media also said that Al-Manar TV has translated Sayyed Nasrallah's threats into a media report with a new dimension representing "Hezbollah creativity" according to the Israeli Television channel 10.
