Thursday, 18 February 2010 11:10 By Qari Yousuf Ahmadi
Share HELMAND, Feb. 18 - The U.S soldiers, who were dropped by the helicopters in Marjah and have been surrounded by the Mujhieen for the last few days, came under Mujhideen's another attack in Lui Char Rahi, near Marjah Bazaar, on Wednesday.
According to the report from Helmand province, the attack promoted a face-to-face combat continuing for about 2 hours, in the mean time, a group of American soldiers, during the fighting, managed to run away in order to call up for reinforcements when they encountered a landmine in the area.
Nineteen U.S soldiers were killed in both Mujahideen's attack and bombing on Wednesday, the report added.
Also Wednesday, two of the U.S tank were eliminated in Karu Char Rahi of Marjah, the former tank, while trying to make its way further into Marjah, was hit by the RPG's, the latter was struck by a roadside bomb blast, killing a dozen Americans inside both tanks.
Similarly, 2 of the U.S tanks were struck by landmine blasts on Wednesday evening in Sistani desert in outskirt of Marjah, killing all the Americans on board.

Just like Americans can't believe everything CNN says, people from other countries cant believe everything they hear." group of American soldiers, during the fighting, managed to run away" Any story that refers to people running away cant be trusted.

I partially disagree with Plymouth Rock, as "peoples running away" means that surrounded soldiers found way to break to siege but then encounter land mines. So, where do you see "not believable" story.
I was in the military, and we do change our position, sounds like we are running away, but actually try to go around the enemy. By closely tracking war in Afghanistan, I admit Mujahideen have serious problem form the Air, but ground, they are fully in control. Nato Terrorist may able to take over this area for few days or weeks, but eventually they will lose again. It's impossible for terrorists to keep control forever.

Raplh you missed my point entirely.
Why does this story only talk about american tanks being destroyed, american soldiers "running away" and american soldiers getting killed? Not one single sentence about the taliban's casualties and you know there are.
Any media that refers to one side as "a group of American soldiers, during the fighting, managed to run away" cannot be trusted, what if the story read "a group of taliban fighters, during the fighting, managed to run away"? This entire site would be pissed right?
It's not a matter of military tactics, I think even not military people understand that you have to move around the battlefield, its all in the way it was described.
It's also not true becuase American deaths is one of the few things that the western media does like to report and as an american I have not heard "19" americans killed anywhere else but here.
I'm one of a very few if not the only American on this site, and Im hear becuase I want to get the non-western side of the media. I see a lot of stories ( that I believe to be true) on this site that I dont see on CNN etc but I also noticed some of the stories here are completely anti-american. News should be news, not pro or anti anything, just the facts.
