Two teenagers have been injured after a hooded gunman opened fire at a church service in Richmond California.

The religious service at the New Gethsemane Church of God in Christ turned bloody on Sunday after three hooded men came in and one of them opened fire.

The apparently discriminate bullets found two fourteen- and nineteen-year-old boys among more than 100 congregates participating in the service.

The three suspects left the scene after the attack, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, citing Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French.

"Obviously it was a very brazen attack — in broad daylight during a church service," Xinhua quoted French as saying.

"You'd think a church is a safe place that people can go no matter what circumstances they have in their life or where they are in their life. After today, obviously not," she added.

The two victims have been hospitalized and are expected to survive.

Police said it was not clear whether they were the intended targets.

In another shooting spree on Friday, three people were killed and several others were injured at the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
