The daily presidential tracking poll by pollster RasmussenReports.com shows that 25% of US voters strongly approve of Obama's performance as president, while 39% strongly disapprove which gives the US president a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14.
A majority of Americans are displeased with President Barack Obama's handling of the economy, a new poll says.

The results of the latest opinion poll by the Franklin and Marshall College Poll, released Thursday, suggests that around two-thirds of US citizens who participated in the ballot voted against Obama's economic polices.

The poll findings indicate that 64 percent consider the economy and personal finances their most pressing problem.

Meanwhile, less than half of the respondents approved of the way Obama is dealing with the economy.

The poll demonstrates that only 35 percent of Americans believe the country is currently heading in the right direction.

Obama's popularity has gone further down since he unveiled a massive 3.8 trillion dollar budget for fiscal year 2011, which embodies a record 708 billion dollar military budget and a 1.6 trillion dollar deficit in the nation's annual expenses.

Also on Thursday, RasmussenReports.com, another US pollster, put Obama's Presidential Approval Index rating at -14 over his handling of the 'most pressing national issue,' the ailing economy.

The US president's administration, eyed by many in America as an oversized government, has drawn intense fire from domestic critics with 78% percent of Republican leaders dubbing him as a socialist in a recent separate poll, The Esquire magazine said on February 11.
