Taliban kill two US ‘spies’ in Miranshah
MIRANSHAH: Suspected Taliban killed two people for “spying for the US” in North Waziristan on Saturday. Sources said the bullet-ridden bodies were dumped on the Datta Khel-Miranshah Road in Degaan area, some 40 kilometres west of agency headquarters, Miranshah. A note found near the bodies said that both the individuals were killed “for spying for the US”, and warned of similar fate for spies. Police officer Qayyum Khan told AFP that the victims were local tribesmen who had been captured last month after a drone attack in the region killed 12 terrorists. Taliban frequently kidnap and kill tribesmen, accusing them of spying for the Pakistani government or US forces in Afghanistan. Washington says the tribal regions have become a safe haven for terrorists. haji mujtaba/afp
