In response to "Remembering Victory Day in a Different Way," a comment by David Marples on May 8.
Editor,
Professor Marples is correct when he reminds us that World War II broke out on Sept. 1, 1939, when Germany attacked Poland. The Soviet annexation of the Baltic states, Eastern Poland, Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina was also described well.
Although Hitler's "Operation Barbarossa" plan existed for a long time, it is important to ask what made it easier for Hitler to launch his attack in June 1941. It was the Winter War against Finland from 1939 to 1940. Tightly following the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the Soviet Union attacked is northwestern neighbor with only 3.5 million people on Nov. 30, 1939.
I have studied more than 70 Soviet and Russian middle-school history textbooks for my dissertation. Only two authors concede that the Soviet attack on Finland determined the small country's orientation during the rest of World War II.
When writing history, one should remember that it is not only about the great game between global superpowers. It also involves the heroic battles of smaller nations for their own lives.

In response to "Softer Speech Before a Tougher Parade," a front-page article by Anna Smolchenko on May 12.
Editor,
When I read this story, I was reminded of a recent trip to Kiev. While I was there, I picked up a copy of Kyiv This Month magazine only to be stunned by its column titled "History In Brief," which read: "1944 — Soviet army occupies Ukraine again. In WWII, both German and Soviet armies were responsible for some 7 to 8 million deaths."
When I wrote the editor of this magazine, I received a reply referring me to another web page from where this phrase was copied, almost word-for-word. To my surprise, the web page was taken from the official site of the CIA.
I wonder what would happen if a Russian official web site wrote about, for example, French history something like this: "1944 — U.S.-British army invaded Normandy. In WWII both German and Allied troops were responsible for some 600,000 French deaths." Wouldn't that cause uproar in the West?
Why do our wartime allies believe they can twist history as they like?

is US/UK. Hitler's just the US punching bag puppet stooge. The US/UK murdered 55M in WWII and 25M since. Bush/Blair have killed 2M to date and had hoped for so much more.
Who supplied gas to Hitler through 1945 without which no blitzkrieg would have been possible? The US. Deliberately? Fucking damn straight deliberately.
The west is the biggest genocidal maniac that's ever disgorged on this planet. Nothing comes close. Put all the Ghingis Khans in line and they won't even be the runner up.
This debate is fucking pointless, Jerry.
But not all is bad. Russia is the dominant power and the WWII squaring of accounts is yet to come. First though, the west is gonna get nicely prolapsed and "softened up" by 4th world poverty from NZ, Aussie, EU, NorthAm. Then it's gonna be "grabitisation" of all assets. And then it's honouring all the west debts. Aussies will lose the stolen land to Asia, China primarily. US will lose it to Russia and EU to Africa and Arabic influx.
So WWII ain't over just yet. Good riddance, you western child murdering vermin. Enjoy the oblivion.

I still can't quite make out where you are coming from and I will never accept your abusive style, but it does appear that we are on much the same side poiuytr, so I'll try to refrain from having a bit of a go at you, as I have in the past ... and the same applies to IronClay, Chestergimli and many others here who I have had differences with, but who are all basically on the same side, irrespective of sundry interpretations.

Russia defeated Germany in the North, Tito and the Partisans defeated Germany in the South, JewSA took credit for it two years later.
The west baboons, as poiuytr would say, can't deal with reality so they set about to destroy the "ugly reminders" of their infamy and phony gloating by first wrecking the Great Yugoslav experiment and now they imagine taking on Russia...Talmudz in for many rude awakenings, they are.

you are defending him. "Hitler's just the US punching bag puppet stooge."
Why?
Maybe because he was half Jew?
You will apologize to me and you will call me a lady Ilyana.

Abusive?
The west manufatures WMD lies on Hussein. They torture people in camps longer now then Hitler, once the peg for humanitarian transgression. The west bombs 7 countries on some 911 pretext, which is US job 100% through and through. The west murders 1,5 MILLION in Iraq alone burying the nation in DU sentencing generations to death.
And you, you western scumbag who've watched all these crimes on your fucking TV in your hovel and did nothing, you dare call ME abusive? You're sense of balance is so fucking off, it's pointless to mince words with you.
Your prezzy Howard said on your TV Aussie troops are in Iraq murdering kids to stave Bush from embarrassment should they pull out! This was on YOUR TV 2 yrs ago.
And you call me abusive? You're mad! But that's the disease of the west. Madness is their only way to cope now. All west baboons are going to be going more and more insane as their world of planetary rape splats their ugly monkey rumps flat and shoves them into the cesspit they created on stolen lands, on genocides.

Never forget Yugoslavians, perhaps the proudest, free-est, and greatest people on earth. Never!
But it's so pointless to mince words with the western monkey. Let it babble on their blithering bullshit. Who cares?
And yes, it's the Orthodox in Russia and Yugoslavia which is among the chief reason why the saxonic holy roman empire fascist pope hitler ratzenberger bush illuminati swine came and attacked Yugoslavians again.
But this time around, it's important to dance around the western ugly colossus as its lizard knees buckle and the scaly beast falls to the ground bleeding from the many lacerations.
Yugoslavia will rise again, very soon, the second the US vampire is bled dry, which is in months now. Confronting the beast today is pointless, it's dying its death from the dollar gangrene circulating in its veins without hope to cleanse it out.
It's very painful to see Yugoslavia attacked again, but this desperate act of the west teutonic jesus slurping bastards is very temporary.
And Yugoslavians shall never be forgotten. How can they? They stopped the disease in WWII. They slashed off the head of that fat roman bitch and played football with it. They've never been conquered. My personal wish is for unification though. It's high time the truth about the western vampirism committed on the fracturing Yugoslavia in order to attack it in pieces (because the west has never ever attacked an armed nation) and the Yugoslavian brotherhood is reeastablished. Od Vardara pa do Triglava... it's the most beautiful nation in the EU... by far!
